Travel Diaries - #Throwbacks - The Glass Palace
This is one of the UNESCO World heritage sites in Tehran, the Golestan Glass Palace. One of the must visit places. Majority of the palace is made of glass; I mean the interiors are decorated with glass mirrors. It looks stunning because through the palace when you walk, you see mirror reflections everywhere. Especially the Mirror Hall is breathtaking made with thousands of intricately crafted pieces of mirror. It was built during the 16th century and then since then lot of work has kept happening till the 19th century.
The Palace showcases the rich history and cultural heritage of Iran. You can see all types of gifts that were received by the monarchs. It is one of a kind Palace, I am sure in that time it must be like a fairy tale living in this palace.
Let me give you a glimpse of this Palace. This is the entrance of the palace. When I stepped in I was mesmerized by it's beauty, everywhere it was sparkling. You can see how finely the mirror work is done.

This is the Mirror hall, the main attraction of the Palace. From ceilings to walls, everything is adorned with mirrors

As I kept going through it, I was speechless with it's beauty

Every piece here is a piece of art

Even the other parts of the Palace which are not made of glass are equally exquisite and elegant.

How does it feel like to live in such a place :-)

It is one of the best Palaces that I have visited in my life time. Seen many but nothing can beat this one.
