Pyramids the wonder of the world

When we talk about Pyramids the first place that comes to our mind is Egypt. For a long time, I always thought that Pyramids were only uniquely found in Egypt, but then later I got to know that there are other places also in the world where Pyramids were built in the olden days. And even though Egypt is famous for Pyramids, one must know that the greatest number of Pyramids are not in Egypt, they are in Sudan. I have never been to Sudan, so I have not seen them.

In Egypt there are around 130 to 140 Pyramids, while in Sudan there are close to 250 Pyramids, and it also has a place in Guinness world records. The difference is that the Egypt pyramids are massive and it's also a wonder of the world due to its size. The Pyramids in Sudan are comparatively smaller and that's why they have not gained that kind of popularity. Because of the instability of the region due to the ongoing political conflicts Sudan pyramids never got popular. Also, it is said that people from the western world came digging for gold in the Sudanese region pyramids and thus damaging them and blowing off the tops. Such a sad thing this is.

Trust me, visiting a Pyramid is an experience, especially if you go inside. I did visit one of the pyramids inside and in that moment, you feel like you are going back in time and witnessing 100s of years of history. It is a very magical moment you feel. You are stepping into a place where once upon a time the Pharaohs walked the path; it feels unreal for a moment.

As far as Sudan pyramids are concerned, if their political situation improves then it can also become one of another big heritage destination for tourist.
