The change in employment expectations
As an HR professional I have observed how companies are evolving in terms of making strategic decisions for their employees. However hard it is for them to accept one thing is for sure that the current generation is not the one who will stay quiet on any kind of professional discontent from their company side. And the companies can really land in to trouble if there is any kind of legal action the employee chooses to take.
That's why there are so many employee engagement initiatives and surveys that keep happening round the year from the company side to get a pulse of what their employees are thinking of them and what is their feelings working with them.

Last year, one of the companies where I have a project going on, one of the employees had some discontent with the management team. His leave was not getting approved and he claimed he had emergency. On this he reported to the Ministry of Manpower, after which officials from manpower visited the office premises, they found some faults and put a fine of almost 6 lakhs Indian Rupees on the Company. It was a sad thing, because that person misused his rights and gave wrong information in the Ministry.
Nowadays the HR and Management both are extra careful while speaking with the employees, it's an unnecessary trouble to invite. The new generation tolerance level is very poor; they cannot listen to No and if things do not happen their way they create larger problems.
